Who owns the van, as a register, is on contractor vehicle records. The driver file, separate from the van, is driver compliance software.
What DVSA expects on a walkaround record
Where your vans are in scope of operator licensing, the DVSA Guide to maintaining roadworthiness says a daily walkaround record should include the registration, the date, the defect or a nil report, the reporter's name, who it was reported to, and the repair. Electronic records are acceptable.
Zerity stores the walkaround the driver completes on their phone, and the defect against the van. It does not file that record with the DVSA. Lighter vans outside operator licensing still need a written defect note before they leave. Confirm which vans are in scope with the DVSA if you are unsure.
